Getting to Know St. Mark’s

St. Mark’s was founded in 1974 with 90 charter members.  We now have over 500 members, affiliate members and friends who call us their church home.  On an average Sunday morning you’ll find over 300 worshippers, and from November through Easter that number frequently swells to well over 400.  While many in our church family are retired, St. Mark’s has a growing number of younger members and children, which is why we have started a contemporary service.

 We like to think of ourselves as a vibrant, dedicated and compassionate congregation actively involved in spreading the good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ.  Although some would consider us a large church, we try to provide the care and friendliness of a hometown parish.  Whether you’re with us for one day, one month, one year, or a lifetime, we hope you’ll find our welcome to be warm, our ministry exciting, our worship evocative, our sermons uplifting, our music inspiring and our church family outgoing and loving.

Ministries

     The Music Ministry at St. Mark’s

The purpose of our Music Ministry is to share the gospel of Jesus Christ through music.  We hope that our music will glorify Christ, encourage our fellow believers and reach out to those who do not know Him.  The following opportunities are available in our church to serve with your musical talents:

 The Chancel Choir – Rehearsals are on Wednesday evenings from 7 to 8:30 p.m. (will resume in the fall)

 The Bells of Praise – Handbell rehearsals are Tuesday evenings from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. (will resume in the fall)

 The Gospel Singers – Rehearsals the 1^st and 3^rd Sundays mornings of each month from 9:15 to 10:00 a.m.

 Our music groups are open to anyone who desires to express their love for the Lord with their gift of music.
